Privacy Policy for Sailing Knots

This Privacy Policy describes how ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with your use of the Sailing Knots mobile application (the "App").

Our core philosophy is to protect your privacy. Our business model is simple: you pay a one-time fee to purchase the App, and we provide you with its full functionality. We do not have an interest in collecting, using, or selling your data.

1. The Guiding Principle: We Don't Collect Your Data

We have designed Sailing Knots from the ground up to be private. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information.

Specifically, we do NOT collect:

• Personal Information: Your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
• Usage Analytics: We do not track how you use the App. We have no third-party analytic tools (like Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.) embedded in the App. We don't know which features you use, how often you open the App, or how long you use it.
• Location Data: The App does not collect or track your geographical location.
• Device Information: We do not collect unique device identifiers (UDIDs), advertising identifiers, or any other information about your device.
• Crash Reports: The app does not automatically send crash reports to us. Any crash logs are stored locally on your device and can only be shared if you manually choose to do so through your device's operating system settings.

2. Information We Do Handle (and How)

While we don't collect data, there are two limited circumstances where information is handled:

• Payment Information: We do not process your payment ourselves. All purchases of the App are processed securely by the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. We do not see or store your credit card number, name, or other billing information. We only receive an anonymous confirmation from the store that a purchase was made. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of Apple and Google.
• Support Correspondence: If you voluntarily contact us for customer support (for example, by sending us an email), we will collect your email address and any information you provide in your message. We will use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and provide you with support. We will delete this correspondence upon your request or after the support issue is resolved.

3. Data Storage

All data you create or use within Sailing Knots (such as user settings, saved knots, etc.) is stored exclusively on your local device. We do not have access to this data. It is not transmitted to our servers or any third party. The security and backup of this data are your responsibility.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Since we do not collect your personal information, we have nothing to share, sell, rent, or disclose to third parties.

The only exception would be to comply with the law. If we are required by law, subpoena, or other legal process to disclose any information, we will do so only as legally required.

5. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). Our App is not directed at children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly obtain parental consent or remove the information.

6. Your Rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, the rights of access, rectification, and erasure are straightforward: there is no data held by us to provide, change, or delete. If you have contacted our support team, you have the right to request access to or deletion of your support emails by contacting us.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
